Dr. Kim Sears, DVM
Dr. Kim Sears graduated Cum Laude from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelors in Biology and a minor in both Chemistry and Agriculture.
She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 1989.
In May 1998 she bought the practice from Dr. Dean Jenson whom started Village Animal Hospital in 1970.
Dr. Sears is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association (KVMA), American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Dr. Sears is a certified Fear Free professional.
Dr. Sears is a mother to Andrew, her 24-year-old son, who is currently graduated from Woodbury University in Burbank, California. Andrew was 3-years-old when Dr. Sears bought the practice and grew up being a part of the Village family. Dr. Sears has 3 dogs, Luther the labradoodle (pictured), Sammy the yorkie, and Dudley the pug. She also has a Senegal parrot named Alvin (pictured) who may be the most favored of all.
When asked what she loves most about her career Dr. Sears said it is being challenged everyday. When practicing in veterinary medicine you have continuous opportunities learn and grow. She loves to see the human-animal bond clients have with their pets and it helps having an amazing staff to keep that bond strong.
Dr. Sears believes in a client focused clinic specifically catered to give each patient individualized care that they deserve.
